About us

The Aldeia das Artes project aims to provide the children and young people from Mussulo Island with the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake a profession and to participate in the economic, social and human development of Mussulo community.

What we do

The Aldeia das Artes Foundation aims to provide over 1500 children and young people on the island of Mussulo with access to education and training, as well as recreational and educational activities to occupy their free time.

With ages ranging from 5 to 18, the children of Mussulo will be able to attend Vocational Training courses and Workshops, in which they will take part in activities to prepare them to perform a trade and find employment in the future.

    Students learn to make desserts and sweets typical to the region, to understand and use kitchen equipment and utensils.

    Students learn to prepare and make appetisers, meat, fish and seafood dishes, desserts, how to cut and clean meat and vegetables.

    Students learn to make bread, cakes and other bakery products, cake decoration and how to use production equipment.

    Introduction to carpentry, products for the treatment and conservation of wood. Sharpening of blades, sanding and planing. Construction and restoration of different materials.

    Students learn to diagnose and repair motor vehicles autonomously.

How to participate

In order for Aldeia das Artes to meet its targets, society at large has to participate more actively. Fundraising and donations are of vital importance to this project.
